2011 REUNION A HUGE SUCCESS

            The wise saying that “a bad beginning makes a good ending” came to fruition before our very eyes this year. It all started with a series of misunderstandings and disagreements as preparation went underway for the planning of our ninth reunion celebration in Atlanta, Georgia. When the controversy was brought before the national body via teleconference and still did not get resolved, some people expressed doubts as to whether there was even going to be a reunion this year. The roadblocks were removed, the love for BHS took precedence over personal differences, and everyone dedicated every effort to ensure a successful convention weekend.  Read More
 
BHSA-USA 2011 HONOREES
At the 2011 BHSA-USA National Convention, one of the many highlights of the evening was the naming of six departments at Bassa High School in Grand Bassa County, Liberia.  In consultation with the school’s administration, it was agreed apon that key departments would be named in honor of faculty members who had made immense contributions toward the academic and physical development of our beloved institution.   Mr. Emmanuel N. Reeves, Chairman of the BHSA- USA board was honored in recognition of the invaluable services he has already and continues to render our Alma-Mater.  The commitment of the individuals who were honored and their invaluable contributions to  Bassa High School have enabled the “Tower of Light” to shine and beam its light in Grand Bassa, Liberia as well as in the world  at large. Celebrates Nine Years of Existence in 2011

Massive preparations have already begun in the host city of Atlanta, Georgia to commemorate this milestone in the history of the association. Without a formal organized chapter of officers and ad hoc committees as is customary in organizations, the few but committed alumni and former students of the institution are pulling together cohesively to ensure the success of the convention .  Read More

 President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has donated a 60KVA generator to help electrified the refurbished six buildings on the Bassa High School campus, which are accommodating students attending the county's community college. Read More
